Four-stage water treatment

Controlled treatment.
Built to keep performing.

HydroCharge is modular water infrastructure: four accountable stages, configured from laboratory data and operated through Water as a Service.

Performance claims remain tied to their recorded test conditions and validation status.

Complete system architecture

One platform.
Four controlled jobs.

HydroCharge is not a universal filter package. The platform is standardized, while the treatment configuration follows the measured source-water profile.

01Design-supported

Protect what follows

Pre-Filtration

Mechanical pre-filtration reduces sediment and suspended solids before water reaches Stage 2 — Water Chemistry Conditioning and Stage 3 — Final Filtration.
02Site calibration required

Create the operating window

Water Chemistry Conditioning

pH correction and chemistry control move source water into the validated operating window required by the downstream treatment. Exact set-points are defined from laboratory data and verified during commissioning.
03Proprietary Smart X engineering

Control flow and contact

Final Filtration

Advanced contaminant removal uses source-specific media inside Smart X’s proprietary housing with integrated Flow Control to regulate branch loading, velocity and media-contact conditions.
04Commissioning verification required

Stabilize, disinfect, protect

Disinfection

Disinfection and chlorine stabilization use controlled dosing, mixing, contact time and residual verification to protect treated water through the distribution boundary.

Closed operational system

Protected for daily operation.

Four enclosed stages protect critical equipment and create one controlled treatment path from raw-water intake to treated-water collection.

Beyond Stage 4 · Smart X Flush System

Safe water doesn't end at the tap.

Architecture boundary: Smart X Flush System is not Stage 5. HydroCharge remains a four-stage treatment platform. Flush System begins after the treatment boundary as downstream safe-use infrastructure.

Explore Smart X Flush System

HydroCharge protects water through treatment and the distribution boundary. The container used to collect that water introduces a separate last-meter risk.

Smart X Flush System addresses that gap by separating container flushing from drinking-water filling and designing the safer sequence into the physical collection point.

01
Flush containerDedicated container-preparation function. Not a drinking-water tap.
02
Physical separationDistinct stations and queue flow reduce the chance that the preparation step is treated as optional.
03
Fill drinking waterThe prepared container reaches a separate treated-water filling point.

Stage 3 · IP-protected Smart X engineering

Flow is not a side detail.
It is part of the treatment.

IP-protected engineering

Stage 3 is not a generic filter rack. Smart X invented a housing with integrated Flow Control to hold branch flow, loading and contact conditions inside a defined operating window.

The housing controls the conditions. The selected media and complete barrier train deliver the treatment.

Inside the Stage 3 concept

A treatment environment.
Not a generic filter housing.

The integrated Flow Control architecture is designed to keep water velocity, branch loading and media contact inside a repeatable operating window. That controlled environment allows the selected filtration media and complete barrier train to do their job consistently.

01

Equalized flow

Distributes hydraulic loading across parallel treatment branches instead of allowing the lowest-resistance path to dominate.

02

Defined contact

Keeps velocity and media-contact conditions inside the engineered operating window for the selected treatment configuration.

03

Source-specific media

Uses laboratory analysis to select the media and barriers required for the actual microbial and chemical risk profile.

04

Verifiable output

Connects performance to the tested source, pH, flow, volume, media configuration and service-life boundary.

WHO-aligned validation targets

Designed for the contaminant.
Verified at the source.

Depending on laboratory results, Stage 3 is configured for fluoride, arsenic, selected heavy metals and microbial risk. Stable Flow Control is essential because uncontrolled velocity or uneven branch loading can undermine contact, reduction performance and service life.

Fluoride≤ 1.5 mg/L

WHO guideline value. Final performance is confirmed at the source-specific pH, flow and treated volume.

Arsenic≤ 10 µg/L

WHO provisional guideline value. Speciation and source chemistry determine the treatment-media selection.

Microbial riskBacteria + viruses

Reduction claims require relevant challenge testing and complete-system verification; they are not inferred from housing design alone.

Heavy metalsContaminant-specific

Each identified metal is measured against its applicable drinking-water target. HydroCharge makes no blanket removal claim.

WHO guideline values and microbiological performance criteria are used as validation references. They do not represent WHO approval or endorsement of HydroCharge. Fluoride reference ↗ Arsenic reference ↗ Microbiological criteria ↗

Validation discipline

Every claim has a status.

Smart X separates measured evidence, engineering basis and pending field verification. That distinction is essential when moving from controlled testing to public infrastructure.

01Measured

Source and controlled-test evidence

Independent raw-water analysis recorded fluoride at 6.8 mg/L and pH at 8.80. In a separate controlled Stage 3 capacity program, average outlet fluoride was 0.22 mg/L with average removal above 95% under the stated test conditions.

Evidence applies to the tested water, media, flow and operating conditions.
02Engineered

System and operating architecture

HydroCharge combines modular treatment stages, source-specific configuration, controlled hydraulics, service access and planned consumable replacement in one operating system.

Engineering basis is not presented as field-performance proof.
03Field verification

Integrated deployment performance

Commissioning must verify the complete treatment train, microbiological results, disinfection residuals, operating stability, service intervals and sustained output at the actual deployment site.

The three-pilot Kenya programme across Kajiado and Garissa is the next integrated proof point.

Measured results are presented with their source water, flow, volume range and test boundary intact.
